Trees grow all year round. In other words, your trees will grow every day, and their natural and organic growth will contribute to your patrimony in timber.
Timber is an innovative, healthy and environment-friendly material. Planting trees reduces pressure on primary forests, and CO2 absorption helps offset climate change. Our activity preserves the most disadvantaged ecosystems, furthermore our venture helps preserve the soil and regulate the water cycle.
Development and fair trade: Joining forces with ecoForests (ecoBosques) means helping rural development, and particularly underdeveloped countries, by means of implementing fair trade policies and developing social initiatives.
Our products are like a college fund for your loved ones and a complement to your pension.
Nature as a guarantee: Timber is a necessary raw material. The growing demand for wood and the current short fall makes timber a very interesting market.
Timber is necessary and there is still a shortfall in timber production. It is a Scarce Commodity. The shortfall of timber in the global market is the best guarantee. Timber is second only to oil as the most imported product in the European Union and the whole world. However, whilst oil is State-controlled and available to a chosen few, timber is more universal and is open to an array of highly fragmented buyers. Global market where the consumption of timber is growing steadily based on the population increase and the limited offer. Global timber consumption exceeds meat and cereal consumption combined.
Purchase stability: Our plantations are located in areas with high growth rates and low thinning rates. In terms of competitiveness, one of the main strong points of the forestry sector in Argentina and Costa Rica is a plantation growth rate which exceeds that of competitors by far, clearly reflecting the sector’s productivity at a primary level. Leaders: ecoForests (ecoBosques) is a leader and pioneer in the production of tropical hardwood with high economic value in Spain. You are welcome to visit the plot where forestry management activities are being carried out to see your trees.
ecoForests (ecoBosques) manages plantations to maximise growth and to obtain a high volume of timber without reducing the quality of the wood. Timber value at felling depends on three factors:1. Timber volume: Organic growth of the tree itself. Growth analysis is performed as indicated in forestry inventories and by means of permanent monitoring plots.
2. Revaluation or increase in the future price of timber: Historical figures show that the average revaluation for teak timber over recent years amounts to 8.4% a year, according to the ITTO. Fine hardwood has increased in value historically, particularly over the last few years. According to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, in the last 180 years, timber revaluation has exceeded all other raw material by 2%.
However, given the rapidly-declining timber supply in fine hardwood resources and the growing demand for timber, we can easily estimate that timber value will continue on the upscale.
3. Timber quality: Timber quality is monitored in plantations throughout the whole of the management cycle using non-destructive and destructive techniques to ensure the formation of heartwood.
